Join John for a weekend of photography when Prince Edward Island is at its scenic best. We'll photograph rolling farmland, colourful fishing villages, lighthouses, coastal cliffs, beaches and wildflowers. The emphasis of the workshop is on developing visual awareness and improving understanding of the elements that go into making successful images.
Where: Stanley Bridge, Prince Edward Island; Workshop is based at Stanley Bridge Country Resort (Granville Room). Stanley Bridge is located in the heart of Prince Edward Island's scenic north shore. Accommodations and meals are available at the resort. www.stanleybridgeresort.com. There are also campgrounds and other accommodation options available nearby. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, meals and accommodation.
Who/What: Photographers of all levels are welcome, from novice to advanced amateur. However, please be familiar with your camera operation. Read your manual carefully and bring it with you. The workshops are digital only. A digital SLR camera and sturdy tripod are required to get the most out of the workshop. A laptop computer (and memory stick) is advisable. Prior to the workshop, each participant should e-mail two images for discussion. Preferably images that you want feedback and advice on how to improve. Images should be sRGB jpgs, 768 X 1024 @ 72 ppi)
The Friday evening classroom session includes discussion of equipment, exposure, light, composition and design. Participants' will be given an assignment for Saturday.

Friday evening 6:00-9:00 - Introductory presentation by John and review of participants' work. Saturday morning - sunrise-10:00 am, photograph sunrise and coastal landscape in morning light.unrise and coastal landscape in morning light.
lunch/brunch together after morning shoot.
12:00-4:00 pm. Break - take a nap, download images, (the Granville Room will be available to participants during the weekend)
4:00-sunset - Afternoon/evening session photographing the iconic PEI coastal scenery west of Stanley Bridge.
Note - This is a long day, about 10 hours of photography time. Bring lots of snacks, water bottle, rain proof clothing, good walking/hiking shoes, sun hat, insect repellant and sunscreen. We photograph rain or shine. If raining, clear plastic bags or plastic shower caps make good cover for your camera gear.
Sunday morning: optional sunrise photo shoot.
Sunday morning 10:30-1:30 ' Granville Room, discussion and wrap-up; view images - up to five per participant; (768 X 1024 jpgs at 72 ppi).
Payment: Workshop fee is $295.00. A deposit of $100.00 is required to reserve a place. Balance due six weeks prior to workshop.
Refunds: Your deposit, less 50%, will be refunded up to six weeks before the workshop. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within six weeks of the workshop.
